Isn't this going a bit too far? I understand the importance of Black Friday for shoppers, especially in these hard times, but this is crazy! I'm sure most of you (ok fine, still ALL 2 of you) who read my blog probably already know about this, but apparently an unsuspecting Wal-Mart employee was trampled to death today. Yes TRAMPLED to death by over 200 Wal-Mart shoppers! C'est WHAT???
Here's the article if you haven't heard about it: http://money.cnn.com/2008/11/28/news/economy/blackfriday_walmart/?postversion=2008112812
I remember working in retail when I was a teenager. Although that was a looooong time ago, I remember how important it was to ensure that there were lines set up for shoppers. This is especially true if there were massive sales. You would think that they would have anticipated something like this wouldn't you?
I may be giving up my entry into the "girl's shopping world" here, but is there any excuse to degrade yourself (look at that picture) in this way and act so recklessly in order to get discounted items?
What does this say about our society?
