The way it is

I really love reality TV. I often find myself watching the most ridiculous things on TV simply because it's a reality show. I think I've always been nosy curious about other people's lives. Since I was a kid, I've always loved hearing about anyone's life story. Although I would never admit this in real life, I love"The hills". What can I say? Something about people in their early 20's making millions using the word "like" 15 times in a sentence containing 20 words fascinates me.

I came home yesterday and decided to flick on the TV just to come across the Keyshia Cole's reality show 'The way it is'. This was the first time I'd watched it, but something about this show kept me sitting on watching several episodes.

In all my days of reality-watching (that's what I like to call it), I have never come across a show with so much DRAMA! The show starts with Keyshia's mother coming out of jail with no teeth. Yes, you read right, she had no teeth and didn't give a hoot about being on TV. There's nothing more real than being on TV with no teeth. That takes some serious guts people!! I won't even leave the house without earrings.

The show includes baby mama/daddy drama, paternity tests, cat fights, talks of wig snatching, tears bawling and screaming, family therapy sessions, etc. It's like Jerry Springer, Ricky Lake and Geraldo all mixed together. I was never a fan of any of those shows as they were too much, even for me. But this show will keep you watching. Now, I know what you're thinking - "everyone knows reality TV is scripted fool". Trust me, there is no way a writer could have scripted this much drama in an episode.

At the end of this show, you come away with two possible thoughts:
  1. "My family isn't really that bad after all" OR
  2. "If I were on a reality show, my life, would bore people to tears I have no baby-daddy issues .... I think I'll keep watching"

Meaghan, realty TV is the best way to escape life and bask in someone else's drama! Plus, you get a good laugh.

Far, her mama is GHETTO-FAB, lol. Glad to know others will admit to watching this too :)
