Sometimes I want to kick life/fate/my luck in the teeth really hard! Then I have images of me kicking air and realize that it would be pointless.

I haven't discussed my job much, but I'm an independent consultant. I absolutely love what I do. However, it's not for everybody. It is a cut-throat industry with lots of backstabbing, but what isn't these days.

My week started out all wrong. First, I got off on the wrong side of the bed... literally. Have I mentioned that I have slight OCD habits? I absolutely must get out of the bed on the right side. I got up on the on Monday! Got to the office and spilled coffee all over my skirt - fantastic!

My current client and I have a weekly meeting. The second I saw his face, I knew something bad was about to happen. Of all the times in my life I had to be right, this is not one I'm happy about. He inform me that they would not be able to proceed with the remainder of this project. We still had 3 more months to go!!! So I've lost 3 solid months of income. The industry is completely dry with all my other clients and potential clients are in the same position.

I then get home to the news that my roommate has decided to move in with her boyfriend in two weeks. Gee, thanks for the notice!

Maybe this is a good time to start buying lottery tickets.

Ouch, right before Christmas too! I wish you all the best for 2009, and I hope you pull through. Maybe you'll take on a new roommate who is even more fab then the last one?! Here's to hoping.

Hey Hun, I'm so sorry all this happened to you right before Christmas (or at all for that matter) One thing that helps get me through tough times is remembering all that I DO have. Even if it isnt much I still have more than many people in the world. I will be praying for you and your job/roommate situation. I hope you have a Merry Christmas despite all that has gone down this past week.

Thank you both for the well wishes and wise words ladies!! I figure that you have to laugh it off and move forward :) At least, life isn't boring.

haha boring?? I sometimes WISH my life was boring...but not really.
I joke around that drama tends to follow me where ever I go, looking for an opportunity to jump out and remind me that life is anything BUT boring. I told that to my grandmother once and she just smiled and said that life today is never boring, but at some point it settles down and then you sit there and wish it had more drama. LOL
Funny how that works out :)
